In Focus is the Bay Area InterVarsity's annual gathering of Black students that challenges students in discipleship to Jesus and mission on campus. It is one of the largest gatherings of Black Christian students in the Bay Area. This year, it is being held on February 7-8 in Concord, CA. The final day for registrations will be Tuesday, February 4 at 11:59PM.
Students will experience dynamic musical worship, hear powerful messages, and build community with one another. There will also be seminars, where students will receive practical tools for how to pursue a life of faith on campus and in their communities. On Sunday morning, we will also hold an open-mic, allowing students to showcase their talents and tell their stories.
This conference is intended to gather, inspire, and empower Black students and youth. There are a handful of volunteer opportunities available. You can request to volunteer by sending an email to Michael Kim-Eubanks, the conference director.
Students will sleep 3 or 4 to a room at a local hotel. Though the room will have either 1 King size bed or 2 Queen size beds, we will put up to four students to a room. Therefore, please bring extra blankets and sleeping bags.
On Saturday, we will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to all registrants, and on Sunday we will provide Breakfast. Lunch and dinner will be at the conference site. Breakfasts will be at the hotel.
Our sessions on Friday and Saturday will be at Fair Oaks Church in Concord, CA.
Registration begins at 5:30pm on February 7 and the conference begins at 6:30pm.
At $50, In Focus is already deeply discounted. Contact your campus staff leader for scholarship requests.
Registrations after February 4 will be held on a wait list.
If you have already paid a deposit, we cannot reimburse you for canceling your registration.
